Models of Supervision: Evaluator

“Assessment in theological field education is not the verdict that comes at the end of students’ service, but rather it is part of the learning process from beginning to end.” (Sarah Drummond in Welcome to Theological Field Education! )

Seminary interns are evaluated by several sources, including supervisor-mentors and mentoring team members. Evaluations focus on the stated goals and objectives of  seminary, site, and student. Formative evaluations take place along the way as
constructive feedback is offered following various tasks. At the end of internships, summative evaluations are made based on the stated goals.
